FCPA, Dr. James Boyd McFie, HSC
Chairman, Board of Trustees
He has served as Non-Executive Deputy Chairman of Centum Investment Company Limited since April 1, 2014. He is currently the Director of Strathmore School of Accountancy, where he has served as a Lecturer since 1978. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sasini Limited and as a Non-Executive Director of The Standard Group Limited. He previously served as Director of the Capital Markets Authority (Kenya) and as a Member of the Value Added Tax Tribunal of Kenya. He holds a Doctorate in Philosophy degree in Accounting from the University of Strathclyde, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Oxford.

Caroline J. Waiyaki
Board Trust Secretary
She is a Kenyan lawyer and advocate based in Nairobi City. She is a senior partner at KittonyWaiyaki Advocates with vast experience in Conveyance, Civil and Commercial practice; advising banks, companies, and non- governmental organizations on securities, charges, leases, mortgages, company incorporations, trademarks and patents, energy law, international corporate finance and public-private partnerships. She is an alumnus of Strathmore Business School having successfully completed several business and law-related programs.

Prof. Chacha Nyaigotti-Chacha, HSC, OGW
Member, Board of Trustees
Prof. Chacha is currently serving as the Chairman of the Kenyan Commission for University Education (CUE). He has served as an executive secretary of the Inter-University Council for East Africa, the first CEO of the Kenyan Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Pro-Chancellor Mount Kenya University, Vice-Chancellor Lukenya University, Principal Kisii University, and Laikipia University. He also served as the Chairperson of the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication Council. Prof. Chacha was educated at Kenyatta College, receiving a BEd (Swahili Language), and later studied at Yale University, gaining an MA in Anthropological Linguistics and a Ph.D. in Swahili Language Linguistics. He has been a lecturer in the majority of institutions of higher learning in Kenya. He was a Research Professor at the Institute of Regional Integration and Development of the Catholic University of East Africa.

Dr. Habil Olaka, CPA, CFA.
Member, Board of Trustees
He is the CEO of the Kenya Bankers Association. He holds a BSc (Eng) degree from the University of Nairobi, MBA in finance from the Manchester Business School and a Doctor of Business Administration focused in Leadership and Strategic Management from United States International University - Africa. Habil started his career at PriceWaterhouse Coopers in Nairobi, served as Director of Operations at the East African Development Bank and currently sits in a number of boards including Kenya School of Monetary Studies, HELB, Federation of Kenya Employers, the National Research Fund and the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Anti-Money Laundering Advisory Board. He is the Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Centre for Corporate Governance, a Governor of KEPSA, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Anglican Church Diocese of Butere.

FA, Geoffrey Odundo
Member, Board of Trustees
He is the CEO of the Nairobi Securities Exchange Limited. As an accomplished Investment Banker, he has been in the financial services sector for the last 24 years, 17 of which have been in the Capital Markets in various senior roles in asset management, corporate finance, and securities trading. Prior to his appointment, he was the Managing Director and CEO of Kingdom Securities Limited. He was instrumental in the setting up of Co-op Trust Investment Services, Co-op Consultancy Services Limited, and Kingdom Securities Limited. He has held strategic roles in the Kenya Association of Investment Banks, the Kenya Bureau of Standards, and on the Board of the Nairobi Securities Exchange. He is currently a Director of the Central Depository and Settlement Corporation Limited (Ltd). He holds a master’s degree in Strategic Management from the United States International University (USIU).

Dr. Rachael Masake, PhD
Member, Board of Trustees
She is the Chairperson Rongo University Council and a member of the Executive Governing Council of the Association of Governing Council of Universities and University Colleges. She holds a Ph.D. in Immunoparasitology from Washington State University in the USA, and a Master of Science degree from the University of Nairobi in Wildlife research. In the University environment, she was a Council Member for Maseno University College (6 years), Maseno University (6 years) and Daystar University (6 years). She has also served on the Boards of Western Region Christian Community Services in Kenya, World Vision Kenya and World Vision International, CORAT Africa, and Christian Agricultural and Related Professionals Association. She was Chairperson of the Board of Trustees for CORAT Africa Pension Scheme and of UTAFITI Cooperative. Dr. Masake has so far devoted over 20 yrs of her life to scientific research.

Mr. Agyenta Anthony
Member, Board of Trustees
Has worked with the United Nations for 15 years as Senior Policy Adviser to UN Country systems, Peace Keeping Operations, and in Humanitarian and emergency response in Africa, South Pacific, and Southeast Asia. Anthony holds a Masters degree in Development Studies; Erasmus University of Rotterdam, Netherlands, with focus on alternative development strategies), a Master in Development Innovations and Change, the University of Bologna, with a specialization in Local Economic Systems, an Executive Programme in Innovations in Governance, Harvard University, and BA9Hons) degree in Political Science- French, University of Ghana. His main interest in Youth led to the establishment of Youth-led innovations in Kenya and the Role of Youth in the IGAD and AUC. He continues to contribute to the training of prospective Peacekeepers and civilian deployments to conflict zones in the interest of Conflict prevention and Peaceful societies.

Dr. Fredrick Ogola
Chief Executive Officer
He is an accomplished global consultant in Strategy Formulation, Execution, & Change Management. He is the Academic Director MBA programs, Director of the Institute of Strategy & Competitiveness & Senior Lecturer of Strategy and Decision Making at Strathmore Business School. He is also Director Strategy & Investments of Property Reality Company & also Sits in the Board of the Arch Diocese of Nairobi Health Board. He is a Part-time Professor of IESE Business School, ranked #1 in Executive Education. He also holds a Visiting Professor Position of University of St. Gallen, ranked #1 in German-Speaking Europe. He holds a PhD in Management Science & Innovation with a focus on Strategy & Execution from ESADE Business School Barcelona Spain. He is a member of the European Business Ethics Network (EBEN) & the European Academy of Business In Society (EABIS).

Mr. Joel Mwita Daniel
Chief Operations Officer
Mr. Mwita leads the Fund's Operations & Strategy execution. This includes commercial activities, project research & operations; marketing and product development. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies with IT from Maseno University, Accounting from Strathmore University, & Mediation from Netherlands Institute of International Relations at The Hague. He is the co-founder of the Kenya Youth Hub, Universities, & Colleges Students’ Peace Association of Kenya. He supports the youth Directorate at the Office of the Deputy President. He worked with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) as a lead youth advocate consultant and represents youth on the Inter-religious Council of Kenya (Multi- sectorial Forum), Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission among others.

Mr. Daniel Ochieng
Chief Administrative, Finance & Support Officer
Mr. Ochieng is charged with the responsibility of planning and implementation of all the finance activities the Fund; including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and general administration. Daniel also serves as Managing Director of the two subsidiaries that complement the Wanafunzi Investment Unit Trust Fund; Wanafunzi Insurance Agency & Ignite Wanafunzi Magazine. Daniel was the 8th President of the Strathmore University Student Council. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Finance & pursuing ACCA from Strathmore University, Kenya. Daniel sits on the Board of The Malmar Knowles Family Foundation; The Kectil Program (Atlanta, Georgia) and Career Workers Development Limited (Nairobi) bringing in unique exposure from the organisations to the support of the Fund.
